The Montana Marathon, an eight show, three city trek across Montana, wrapped up yesterday.  We hadn’t checked in on the progress since day two because of spotty reporting, but we now have the final days.  So find a comfortable chair.  This will take a while.  You may recall that Yellowstone Valley Kennel Club had the first three days and held their shows in Billings.  You can read about the first two days here.

On day three Gloria Geringer  greeted the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Dytona VIP, the Pekingese, GCH CH Windemere’s Dusting of White at Pevyne, the Bichon Frise, CH Overtops And The Winner Is, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Traveler’s Pierce Arrow.

The GWP, Oakley, would grab his first of four BIS for the week, before taking a plane to Orlando FL for the rest of the weekend.

GCH CH Eskai's Sir Kasper

The rest of the group would reconvene the next day in  Great Falls for two days with the Electric City Kennel Club.  Polly Smith would have the first final and her pick of the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Collaboration With Traddles, the Redbone Coonhound, GCH CH Eskai's Sir Kasper, the aforementioned Kuvasz & MiniBull, the Maltese, GCH CH Chrisman's Shiny Toy Gun, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Vaje's Jethrene Bodine,  and the previously seen Collie.  Her Best was the Coonhound, Kasper.  Both of Kasper’s BIS this year have come this month.

GCH CH R and G’s Mystical Dancer

The Five Valley Kennel Club had the final three days, Sunday, Monday, & yesterday, and they chose to host in Missoula.   The Boxer, GCH CH R and G’s Mystical Dancer, would start the week in Valparaiso IN where he would pick up one BIS.  He joined the marathon for the last three days and came away with two more big rosettes.

On day one Joe Gregory preferred Danny to the same Clumber, the Borzoi, CH Radharc Royal St. Kitts, the Miniature Schnauzer, CH Kruse's High Interest, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Dejavu I Wanna Talk About Me, the Lhasa Apso, and the aforementioned Collie.

GCH CH Silveroaks First & Foremost

On Monday, Danny would get to plead his case with Joe Tacker, along with the now familiar Harrier, MiniBull, Chinese Crested, & Smooth Collie.  Making their first final of the set were the English Setter, GCH CH Oakley’s B’Dazzled, and the American Eskimo Dog, GCH CH Silveroaks First & Foremost.  His BIS was the AED, Primo.  It’s the first BIS this year for Primo in four final appearances.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Ruth Sampson.

Danny would close out the eight day marathon with the ubiquitous Clumber and Chinese Crested, the Whippet, GCH CH Endeavor's White Roses on Nysa Hill, the Standard Manchester Terrier, GCH CH Oasis Razzmatazz , the French Bulldog, GCH CH Imperiale Bellaridge Shady Harbor Patrick Dempsey, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, Shadowalk Wizard Esquire.  Sonny Ambrosio would award Dan and breeder/owner/handler Kimberly Steele-Gamero their tenth all breed BIS of the year.  Look for Danny to improve on his Number Ten All Breed ranking when all the numbers are in.
