GREAT LAKES SIX

GCH CH Lightning Strike El Xargall

Let’s go next to the Great Lakes area, specifically the shores of Lake Michigan where we have seen six shows this month.  Chicago area fanciers started the month in Dekalb IL with the Yorkville Kennel Club’s two shows.

GCH CH Stargazr'n Wingfield Time Will Tell

Saturday’s final saw the English Setter, GCH CH Stargazr'n Wingfield Time Will Tell, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Hundeleben Queens Amada SL, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol Veni Vidi Vici, the Russell Terrier, Appasiionato Jp Monamour’s Star, the Papillon, Wingssong Here We Go Again, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Briard, GCH CH Lightning Strike El Xargall.

Judge Michael Doherty liked the Briard, Thunder, as his Best and the English Setter, Trevor, as his Reserve.  Both of Thunder’s BIS this year have come in the last two months.

The second weekend would find Windy City fanciers heading to Crown Point IN for the Steel City Kennel Club’s two shows.  Day one’s final seven included the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Ocoee Dsquared With A Vengeance, the above named Dachshund, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the Japanese Chin,  GCH CH Pem We-Syng Lucky Mi, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Shine’s Deck the Halls, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Jesstar Nirvana.

Mary Ann Alston’s Best was the only Russell Terrier to ever win a BIS, Bosse.  Her Reserve was the Shar-Pei, Tinsel.  Bosse now has six BIS this year.   We encourage you to seek out this one.  He will be the Russell Terrier that people talk about when discussing the first days of this charming breed.

Sunday Barbara Dempsey Alderman would see five of Saturday’s finalists and the Basset Hound, GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu Eeenie Meenie Miney Moe, and the Boston Terrier, GCH CH Gunther’s Gussied Up Edna.  Her Best was the Chin, Mimi.  Mimi is the Top winning Chin of all time with 18 all breed wins.  This one was her third of the year.

GCH CH Loujons Back Roads to Paris

This past weekend the action was in Fond du Lac WI with the hometown kennel club.  A couple of weeks ago we wrote about how rare it was to see multiple BIS wins by an English Toy Spaniel.  Imagine our surprise when a week later we see another English Toy Spaniel, the Blenheim & Prince Charles, GCH CH Loujons Back Roads to Paris, go back2back BIS in Fond du Lac.

Saturday Peggy Dillard Carr preferred Pari to the Airedale Terrier, CH Huntwood’s Command Performance Of Tobylynn, whom she preferred to the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Summits Emery It's In The Bag, the Whippet, CH Fanfare Forgetmenot My Kinda Pretty, the Great Dane, Graycn Lost Creek The Descendant Of Elan, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Evergreen's Girls In White Dresses, and the German Shepherd Dog, Celeste Of Ro Anne-Isle.

Sunday judge Helen Winski Stein would see the same seven and come to th4 same conclusion, choosing Pari and the Airedale, Jayden, as her BIS & RBIS.   The two wins are the first for Pari this year.  Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Karen Miller, co-breeder Susan Plance, and owners Cindy Williams & Jamie Ward.
