A cursory view of this blog may lead one to think that our primary focus is on the Top Ten Dogs All Breeds. While it is true that the names of the top ranked canines are repeated frequently here, the fact is we show case every dog that wins a group and keep detailed statistics on every dog that has won a BIS or RBIS, a group that numbers nearly 400 so far this year.

We start our Monday Morning Mop Up out on the West Coast where one of those less well-known names claimed a Best In Show. The Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Brocair’s HRH Prince Harry, was Houston Clark’s BIS at Saturday’s Lompoc Kennel Club show in that California town. Joining Harry in the final ring were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Foxboro N Shardust Authentic, the Borzoi, GCH CH Majenkir Bookstor Vintage Glamour, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Marienburg’s Special Ops Commando, the RBIS, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Forestcreek Louisiana Lagniappe, the Keeshond, GCH CH Skylines Unit Of Measure, and the Australian Cattle Dog, GCH CH Kokopelli’s SoBe It. Harry is the nation’s Number One Lakeland Terrier with two BIS and four Terrier Groups this year.

Harry would be the only of Saturday’s finalists to make it back to the final ring on Sunday. Joining him in judge June Penta’s ring were the German Shorthaired Pointer, CH VJK-Myst Garbonita’s California Journey, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Thaon’s Wallstreet, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Chancellor Flirts High Flyin Gladiator, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Hitimes What The Inferno, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Newtnine Crown Of Queen, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Copper Hills No Reservations.

She would choose the Afghan, Wally, as her Best and the Bichon, Queenie, as her Reserve. Wally does not maintain a campaigner’s show schedule, but still has four BIS and 21 Hound Groups in 2014 to make him the Number Two Afghan Hound.
