We start our Monday Morning Mop Up with a report on the nation’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse. Matisse maintained his record setting pace with a remarkable sweep of all five shows in Salem VA this week.

The Roanoke Kennel Club would take over on Friday and put judge Dr Robert Indeglia in the final ring. He would place Matisse and the Cocker, Alan, one/two while the Bloodhound, Nathan, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Angarda Deja Vu Looking At You, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Moxiepoms Diego Gabriel Chavez, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Luminary Black Velvet Bejeweled With Pearls, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Empty Nest It’s Not About The Money, looked on.

The RKC would do it again on Szaturday this time with judge Loraine Boutwell in the final ring. She would consider the now familiar Cocker, Bloodhound, Bedlington, Chihuahua, Puli, and the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sings Po-Ba-Ri At Arundina, before naming Matisse BIS and the Chihuahua, Sonnito, RBIS.

GCH CH Ha’Penny Mirimar The Fab Fawn

Matisse would bring it home on Sunday with the big rosette at the New River Valley Kennel Club show. Taking home the reserve award was the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Ha’Penny Mirimar The Fab Fawn. Also staying to the end to see judge Gloria Kerr were returning Cocker, Bloodhound, AmStaff, Chihuahua, and Tibbie.

Seven months through the year, Matisse has amassed 81 BIS and 106 Working Groups. Anyone know what the record is for most BIS in a single year?
