The Valparaiso Kennel Club was in its Indiana hometown hosting two shows this weekend. The seven dogs that made it to judge Karen McFarlane’s final on Saturday were the Welsh Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Trystyn Statesman Cactus Blue, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Elmo's Martian Chronicles CGC, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Gamegards I'll Have Another V Braeside, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, GCH CH King's Mtn Angelina Ballerina, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH La Brise Sun Bear.

Her BIS was the Rottweiler, Indy, and her RBIS was the Dandie, Angie. It was the ninth BIS in 31 final appearances this year for the nation’s Number One Rottweiler.

On Sunday judge Gary Newton would see it the other way round, naming Angie his Best and Pilot his Reserve while the Curly-Coated Retriever, CH Sun Devil I’ve Gotta Feeling For CudyNCae, the 13” Beagle, Gwencalon’s Tam O’Shanter, the aforementioned Shih Tzu & Shar-Pei, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Copperridge's Debonair CD RA CGC, looked on.

Angie is the only Dandie Dinmont to win a BIS in the last five years and she now has six BIS and 29 Terrier Groups in 2014.

  1. This Rottweiler's call name is Indy, not Pilot. PS: love this site...it's my weekly addiction!
