The first week of the 2015 show season is in the books and several dogs distinguished themselves as potential Top Ten candidates. To no one’s surprise 2014’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, posted back2back BIS in Pendleton SC.

GCH CH Ashdown’s Time to Thrill

Sunday’s win came at the Clemson Kennel Club show under judge Robin Stansell. Judge Stansell liked Matisse more than he did the RBIS, the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Ashdown’s Time to Thrill, whom he liked more than he did the Smooth Dachshund, GCH CH Leoralee’s Barstool Boogie MS, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Maid Of Honor, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Sonnus Filho (Sanchez), the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Belle Creek’s All I Care About Is Love, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Riverside Telltail Coco Posh.

The two wins bring Matisse’s career BIS total to 231, 44 shy of the mark set by the wiiningest dog in AKC history, the German Shepherd Dog, CH Altana’s Mystique.
