WE'VE ONLY JUST BEGUN

GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse

As we start our eighth season here on Dog Show Poop we are frequently asked if we tire of the game. It’s kind of like asking an eight year old if he tires of Christmas morning. We may see many of the same faces and we may have to suffer a re-gifted fruit cake now and then, but we know that something will show up under the tree that makes us smile and will make us remember this year along with all those that have come before.

The 2015 show season is starting to take form and many of the 2014 holdovers are carry the momentum of last year into January. 2014’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, added a seventh BIS to his 2015 resume, taking the top prize at Saturday’s Carroll Kennel Club show. With 236 career BIS, Matisse still needs 40 more to break the record set by German Shepherd Dog, CH Altana Mystique.

GCH CH Cragsmoor Goodtime Charlie

Challenging Matisse for the win was last year’s Number One Hound, the RBIS, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner’s International S’Cess. Nathan has already collected two BIS this year, both over Matisse. Rounding out judge Karen Wilson’s seven were the Flat-Coated Retriever, GCH CCH Windy Hill Dance To The Music JH, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Darling Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, the Pekingese, GCH CH Pequest General Tso, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotted Bliss Oreo Delight, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Brimar’s Spirit of a Storm.
