THREE DAYS AT PURINA FARMS

The last of the family visitors have left and we can return to our keyboard and loose ourselves in our backlog of show reports.  We start with the results from the Rolla Missouri Kennel Club, the Spirit of the Heartland Kennel Club, and the Jefferson County Kennel Club of Missouri shows May 1st through 3rd at Purina Farms in Grey Summit MO outside of St Louis.

The RMKC was first up on Friday and they put judge Loraine Boutwell in the final ring with the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Blindside, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner’s International S’Cess, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence CGC, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake Pants on Fire, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Yarrow’s Tiarra From Schwestrn, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Merry Go Round, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv’s Sultry Sensation.

She chose the Kuvasz, Tanner, as her Best In Show and the Bloodhound, Nathan , as her Reserve.  We have not seen Tanner, the winningest Kuvasz, in AKC history with 55 career BIS, since 2013.  Six year old Tanner was shown to the win by breeder/owner Lynn Brady.   Congratulations to Lynn, breeder/owner Constance Townsend, co-breeders Bea & Clay Page, and owners Mercedes Vila & Claudia Muir.

The Bloodhound, Nathan, the Border Terrier, Cinder, and the OES, Andrew would all return to the final ring at Saturday’s SHKC show.  Joining them were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Forever’s All Jacked Up CGC, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Katon's Eye Of The Tiger V Morgenwald, the Pug, GCH CH Careva's Boodelicious, and the French Bulldog, GCH CH Qazara Ti Amo.

Judge Tim Catterson’s BIS was the Pug, Buddha, and his RBIS was the OES, Andrew.  It was the first of the year for Buddha in trips to the final ring.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Patt Kolesar-Stoltz, co-breeders Patti Nash & Michelle MacRae, owners Mary Henricks & Rick Stoltz, and handler Erin Henlon-Hall.

GCH CH Derby’s Toast with Gusto

Judge James White would close it on Sunday for the JCKCM.  His seven options were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Ehrenvogel Achy Breaky Heart, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Jus Strike It Rich, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, GCH CH Derby’s Toast with Gusto, the Border Terrier, Cinder, the Papillon, GCH CH Fenice Le Beaudreaux, the Bulldog, GCH CH Dowat’s the Gladiator, and the OES, Andrew.

Best went to the Swiss, Gus, and Reserve to Cinder, the Border Terrier.  Gus is the country’s Number Eight Working Dog with four BIS in 29 final appearances this year.
