THREE DAYS IN OYSTER BAY

The Ladies Kennel Association of America and the Long Island Kennel Club teamed up for three shows in Oyster Bay, NY, the home of President Theodore Roosevelt. The LKAA had the opener on May 15th and they asked judge Rita Biddle to take the day one final. Her final seven included the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Skara Braes I Was Worth The Wait, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Charteroak Blu Star, the Boxer, GCH CH Brisbane “N” Blue Mondays Diamonds Are Decadent, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Smooth Chihuahua, GCH CH Sonnus Filho (Sanchez), the French Bulldog, GCH CH JCRV-Klasse Warrior Raising The Banner, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Cityside Splitting The Defense.

Taking the BIS was the Chihuahua, Sonnito. The RBIS would go to the Afghan, Blu. Sonnito is the nation’s Number Seven Toy Dog with three BIS and 30 Toy Groups through May 17th.

The next two days would belong to the nation’s Number One Terrier, the above named Skye Terrier, Charlie. At Saturday’s LKAA encore, judge Marjorie Tuff would name Charlie her best and the returning Boxer, Suri, her Reserve after considering the aforementioned Gordon, Chihuahua, & Corgi, and the Greyhound, GCH CH GrandCru Giaconda.

Charlie would top judge Robert Hall’s final at Sunday’s LIKC show. Judge Hall would also like Sonnito, the Chihuahua, whom he named Reserve. Rounding out the seven were the now familiar Gordon, Afghan, Boxer, & Corgi, and the Dalmatian, GCH CH Chermar Atlantis Ruby Red Cinnabar CGC. Charlie is AKC’s Number Four Dog All Breeds with 16 BIS and 43 Terrier Groups.
